Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Stasaver ("we", "the app") handles information when you use it. The app is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
Data we access
The app reads status media files that already exist locally on your device within the WhatsApp/WhatsApp Business folders. It only displays and copies these files at your request. It does not upload your statuses or personal data to any server.
Permissions
Media access is used solely to list and save statuses you choose. Standard Notification permission (Android 13+) is optional and used to alert you when new statuses are available. Notification Access (Listener Service) is strictly optional and only used if you enable the Chat Recovery feature.
Chat Recovery & Notification Data
If you enable the Chat Recovery feature, the app uses a notification listener service to detect WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business message notifications. This service may cache sender names, message text, and any preview images locally so that if the sender later uses WhatsApp's "Delete for everyone" feature, you can still view that deleted message. Recover Deleted Chats only shows messages the sender deleted for everyone — opening or dismissing a notification does not list a message as deleted. All recovered data is stored strictly locally, is never sent to any external servers, and is never shared with third parties. You can disable this access at any time in your device Settings.
Third-party services
The app uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob and its partners may use device identifiers and consent signals to serve ads in line with Google's privacy policy. You can manage personalization in the app settings. We also use Firebase Analytics to understand app-level usage (such as feature interactions) and Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and diagnostic data for stability. These services process non-personal, aggregated information and are governed by Google's privacy policy. No message contents, statuses, or recovered chats are ever sent to these services.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for their use.
